Favorite Parisian Hotel

Paris is home to some amazing luxury hotels (at amazing prices ) – think the Four Seasons, The Ritz, Peninsula and Mandarin Oriental amongst others.  My favorite to go hotel is Hotel Montalembert hidden on a small side street in the St Germain area on the Left Bank.  It is a 5 star boutique hotel built in 1926 and renovated last year.  There are only 50 rooms and suites all decorated with Louis Philippe antiques.  The Montalembert is a short walk from the Musee d”Orsay,  Notre Dame and the Louvre.

The cozy lobby, friendly staff and quirky elevator ( built for 2 very slim and tailored Parisian women ) all add to the ambiance.  We had a wonderful junior suite overlooking the Parisian roof tops.  Paris is for romance and the Montalembert certainly encourages this – on our recent stay, our friends announced their engagement over wine on the terrace!

     Some things to know:

  • Standard rooms are small (typical for older hotels in Paris ) as are the bathrooms
  • A continental breakfast can be included in your rate
  • There is no fitness center.  Walking Paris can be a workout in and of itself!
  • Make use of the “Clefs d’Or” Concierges for restaurant reservation

Let us know what your favorite Paris rendezvous is!   Enjoy the “City of Lights”!!

xoxo, Rosanna
