Should I launch even if it’s not PERFECT?

My Weekend Office……outside.  And, YESSSS…do it even if it’s not perfect!

I often have people drop a note on our Website and ask a question.  This particular question is one I often see and can relate to….hint:  it has to do with that “Type A” thing…….

Natalie writes:

I’m a serial entrepreneur and I’ve started a couple companies successfully. I built my businesses through word of mouth referrals only. I don’t have a website right now… but I do have an “almost site”.

I have say almost because I’ve had photoshoots, I’ve hired designers and copywriters, but there are still things I don’t like. I’m your stereotypical type A perfectionist.

I want to do a new photoshoot now because there are things about the shoot I don’t like, and I never feel like the words and graphics are good enough. I look at other people’s sites (like yours) and it makes me think I should just keep working at mine to get it perfect.

I think I know what you’re gonna say already Rosanna… but can you give me some advice on just putting it out there?”

As soon as I saw this question I couldn’t wait to answer it!

Because this isn’t just about perfection, people. This is about something much, much deeper and more powerful: fear.

Thats right, fear.  We all have it….no one is immune.  When we put ourselves out there in business or in life, we risk being judged.  Being seen by people who don’t know you is scary – for everyone.  Take a deep breath and smile.  It doesn’t have to be perfect and it doesn’t have to be in FINAL form.  In this particular case, you may be overthinking it!  You’ve had your photoshoot and written your copy.  Move forward and launch your passion!  I laughed just a little when you referenced my website.  It’s a constantly changing work in progress…..I NEVER feel it’s perfect or finished (feel the Triple Type A vibe?).  The truth is that we all work on our sites CONSTANTLY.  Don’t let this hold you back.  Launch and nip and tuck at will.  Make it fun.  Ask friends for feedback.  The biggest hint here is:  DON’T LET FEAR OF IMPERFECTION KEEP YOU FROM GETTING YOUR DREAM OUT THERE…

Now it’s your turn, amazing entrepreneur!

I’m sure you’re grappling with your own challenges — including perfectionism, and the fear of being seen.

What’s your secret for pushing yourself to just “Do it anyway”?

I’d love to read your story below (I always read every single one!)

And oh hey: Have a question you’d love to see me answer here? Drop me a line at – thanks SO much for taking time to chat with us.

xoxo, Rosanna
