3 Surprising Signs You’re Not Sleeping Enough….
Do you ever wake up feeling like you need to take a nap? What about after that fabulous, hot Venti Latte? We all move fast these days…..and, I think it’s fair to say no one gets enough sleep.
Here are a few surprising signs that you may not be sleeping enough:
- You are hungrier than usual. Ok, a tough one for me…..I feel like I eat at EVERY opportunity….sleeping less triggers levels of hunger related hormones and decreases levels of a hormone that helps control how much food you consume. Even worse, lack of sleep usually makes you crave more high-calorie snacks! Ughhh.
- Feeling down. Sleeping less can take a toll on your mood. You may feel cranky or sad. Overtime, you may succumb to depression.
- You are continually sick. Just 5 – 6 hours of sleep a night increases your chances of coming down with a cold or flu. Try for 7 or more hours of sleep for optimum health. Too little snooze time can also chip away at important immune cells that help you stay strong.
