I love Hummus….but, found that buying the “easy” version in the stores often led to eating waaayyyy too much salt, fat and oil. So, while flipping through a Women’s Health magazine (my typical Dental office modus operandi) I found this super easy, healthy version. Thought I’d share it….there is a surprise ingredient….
SKINNY DIPPING
2 T EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
2 – 4 T Fresh Lemon Juice
2 – 4 T Water (use this to adjust the thickness)
1 Can Garbanzo Beans drained
1/4 C Tahini (I like THIS brand – easy to use and yummy)
1/4 C Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
MAKE IT:
Mix liquids first, then add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Add more water and salt to taste.
THE DEETS:
Makes 12 servings / 75 Cals per serving / 5.5 g fat / 5 g carbs / 1 g protein / 1 g fiber
You can add almost any veggie to this…I just tried beets…loved it! What is YOUR favorite flavor of hummus?
