THE WORLD NEEDS YOU!
Whether you’ve been working on / fine-tuning your dreams for years, or putting the final touches on them now, you may be sitting somewhere (I’m in the Polaris Club Lounge at Houston International AGAIN waiting for my flight…) thinking about whether or not you should launch your creation. Are there too many people doing this already? I waited SO long … is it too late? Has someone younger beat me to it? I’m not great at computer stuff….can I survive in today’s business world?
I can tell you right now, you are not the ONLY one who feels this in today’s fast-moving, highly-competitive marketplace. It’s easy to slide down the Instagram page and see how beautifully everyone appears to be accomplishing their goals. It looks easy, right? Just remember, take a deep breath and START WHERE YOU ARE. If you have an idea that makes you smile…makes you jump out of bed in the morning….tell everyone you can trap at Pilates class….you NEED to get it out there. The World NEEDS your talent and your idea.
This is a frequent concern from my readers and Instagram followers in all parts of the World. But, rather than cheerlead and rah rah you into taking those reins back and getting your project launched, I’m going to share a genius business example of “crowded market thinking”.
In a market overrun with prescription reading glasses, a small company noticed that people were hesitant to spend hundreds of dollars on multiple pairs of glasses. So, when they traveled, they had ONE pair of glasses with them. I think we all remember this dilema…..you lost them and are borrowing everyone’s glasses the entire trip! This small company made a decision to “zag” and create a less expensive alternative for those who needed multiple pairs of reading glasses. The first wave of “readers” was born. The approximate cost was $10. a pair as opposed to the 250. – 350. people paid for prescription models. Well, because the company was NOT intimidated by a crowded field, they launched a new sector that has grown into a billion-dollar-plus industry today. I buy tons of them (at $2 at Walgreens) and leave them in every room – it’s also a great “guest” item…everyone forgets their glasses at one time or another or, they don’t want to go outside in 28 degree weather to retrieve them from the car in winter. It’s the old football coach thing….”No guts…No glory”, right?
The take home here is: regardless of how many people are doing that one thing that you LOVE, NO ONE does it exactly like YOU do! Launch your passion. You deserve it. Get out there and share your gifts. Do it NOW.
KEEP LEARNING. KEEP MOVING FORWARD. KEEP AGING BACKWARDS,
