20 MINUTE DETOX BATH…

I love a GOOD workout (or game of golf or challenging ski run) and learned quite a few years ago that a 20 minute (longer if you can lock the door or hide from everyone) Epsom Salt soak is magical!

Epsom contains magnesium sulphates which are absorbed through the skin. Did you know that more than 50% of what we apply to our skin is absorbed by our bodies? Crazy, right?! When we become stressed, our Cortisol (stress hormone) rises and we lose our stored Magnesium supply. Magnesium helps with mood and supports the release of seratonin (this is the HAPPINESS hormone). Seratonin is also an appetite suppressor! Bonus:) And, wait for it….

Epsom salt reduces water retention and releases toxins….sold, right? Be sure you are using EPSOM SALTS without additional additives.

I also take cranberry supplements if traveling or feeling extra “bloaty” (ok, I just made that up….

How often should you enjoy this Detox? If I’m working out, running, etc. I may do them 3 – 4 times a week. I really use this trick when traveling. Most hotels will have Epsom if you ask the Concierge.
