WELL, it’s finally happening……
do you remember that a thing where you drive to the airport and then get on something silver (painted) with seats and actually GO somewhere??!!!!
I feel as though it’s been years since we escaped town and traveled! We were out to dinner with family last evening and were laughing about the sea of “masked” people we’d be riding with on this little adventure.
It’s one of those short but fabulous little getaways that make you smile. Short enough to keep your workload under control and long enough to recharge your batteries! Jackson Hole is the spot. The last time we were there the fires were raging and we couldn’t get close to seeing the famous Tetons….
Just in case you’ve not had a chance to visit…thought I’d give you a teeny rundown about what makes Jackson Hole so “in demand”.
Jackson is a town in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole valley, home to 3 ski areas:
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King Mountain Resort and Grand Targhee Resort.
The Town Square features arches made of shed antlers from the nearby National Elk Refuge.
The National Museum of Wildlife Art has works by Andy Warhol and Georgia O’Keeffe.
North are the peaks of Grand Teton National Park, as well as vast Yellowstone National Park.
Conde Nast’s Traveler named Jackson Hole one of the top 10 cities to visit in the US. It’s full of breath-taking views, amazing restaurants and, really nice people. We love it in both ski season and now…the trees are brilliant in their Fall colors and the skiers are champing at the bit for that first really big dump of the white stuff!
A couple of long-standing faves once you arrive and get settled in are…Corbet’s Cabin on the hill known for it’s waffles drizzled with copious brown sugar and butter (ski fuel). Another is the Snake River Grill…..
One of our favorite Summer/Fall things to do is to grab a car and drive into Yellowstone. We toured the park last season with Missy K and just couldn’t get over the jaw-dropping beauty of it.
Here are a few GREAT things to do in Jackson Hole, WY:
