THE SCOOP ON DAIRY-FREE ICE CREAMS.

I grew up LOVING ice cream. There, I said it….it’s out there.

We all know it contains lots of sugar, cream and other things that can be less than great for our heart health.

That being said, I have been on the hunt for a healthier alternative for some time. Not specifically kept or sugar-free…just a healthier alternative for the holidays.

My ONLY “must” was that it taste great and was creamy.

So, here are some tasty, dairy-free options for your family get-togethers:

Oatly – Oat-based – creamy and light

Planet Oat Coffee Fudge Swirl (think Jamoca Almond Fudge here) – best texture

Wildgood – Oil-based – I know…weird, right? But, when you remove the dairy fat you must have something…..avocado oil, olive oil and coconut oil fills in. I liked then Pistachio and Chocolate (major surprise here, right?!)

Cado Lemon – It’s AVOCADO ice cream!!! Light and citrusy with absolutely NO avocado taste. Magical, right?

Coconut Bliss Dark Chocolate – this brand has been around for a bit but has recently done a “rebrand” on it’s packaging – may make it harder for you to recognize. But, the flavor and texture of the Dark Chocolate Coconut is motivating.

Nada Moo Mint Chip – Sooooo light … almost whipped in texture. Because it’s not super coconut, you can use it in lots of different flavors. Love the cool minty flavor.

Frozen Fruit CO. Chocolate – Noticing a theme here…..this ice cream uses the least amount of ingredients. Yet, it is sweet and light.

If your family is like mine, we love topping pies, cakes – pretty much anything with ice cream. Try one of these and let me know which is your favorite!
