“DON’T LET YOUR WORST ENEMY LIVE BETWEEN YOUR EARS.” BUDDHA
I love this quote!
And, I think a lot of us can relate to it.
I’m talking about taking care of ourselves – really making it a priority.
As women, we are groomed to care for others every day. And, we tend to put everyone else ahead of our own care.
Have you ever gotten into great shape – felt amazing – had tons of energy – only to fall back into a slump while worrying that you should be cleaning the house or working more hours?
I’m afraid we ALL have!
And, here is where the quote comes in…
We tend to “self sabotage”. Talk ourselves out of what is best for us and do what we “think” we should be doing.
The good news is – we can change this habit.
Take 5 minutes and write down some health or self-improvement goals. There is NO right or wrong here so be as honest as you can.
Try to structure a daily “routine” for your health.
A journaling time with your first cup of coffee.
Schedule an 30 – 60 minutes for yourself once the kiddos are in school or napping.
Read something interesting about an issue you may be experiencing. “Beating Brain Fog” by Dr. Sabina Brennan is a great one for anyone experiencing pre/post menopause.
Just focus on creating one small change in your routine. And, have a clear idea of what it is you want to accomplish on that particular day. It’s not easy, but it is do-able.
Take back your life – get healthy – read more – have more time with family and friends.
It’s YOUR decision – make it count!
