REMEMBER the thrill of going to the Amusement Park?

I’d run sweating (of course I’d end up with those super cute sweaty bangs) through looking for the shortest line for the BIGGEST thrill.

And, of course, you were sick as a dog from cotton candy and spinning rides.

Good times.

But, now that I am older and wiser, the up and down ride I’m taking is hormonal.

Anyone else?  Come on, I went first:)

Numerous studies indicate that at approximately 41 you may begin taking one of the biggest, life-changing rides of your life.

Peri-Menopause / Menopause.

Just to make sure you’re in the right “line”,  here is a short list of symptoms:

Brain fog

Night Sweats

Joint Pain (this can be a lot of things – always check with your medical provider) Could be a fluctuation in hormones that causes it.

Weight Gain – Even if you feel you’ve been pretty consistent with lifelong routines.

Sleeplessness – aka Modern Life

Loss of muscle tone.

Mood swings

Okay,  it seems a teeny bit grim – but, here is the good news.

Whether you choose to use HRT or Adaptogens you may feel relief of most if not all of these symptoms.  You need to try the adaptogens for a month to see what they do for you.  Then, if one or more of your challenges persists, add another for a month and see if they dissipate. The GREAT thing here is that they are all natural and can be used without any problems.

If you choose HRT, you’ll need a medical professional who understands hormones and their effects on muscle mass, weight gain, sleeplessness and cravings.  If you issue has Thyroid overtones – see an endocrinologist and have blood work done.

If you are uncomfortable when working out or exercising, try the old wet bandana in the freezer – then place it on the back of your neck.  Weird, but it does work!  Guinea Pig here…..I have used this one during summer tennis games.

Are you struggling with any of these? How do you handle them?  Any great secrets we need to know here?
