I HATE TACOS … SAID NO JUAN EVER!

Do you ever feel like you have to scrutinize every.single.food. you want to eat?

Well, ya don’t!

How fun is that?

It’s just a simple shift in perspective – a healthier mindset.

Here are some “go-to” foods that help you get healthier AND you eat them every single day if you want:

LEAFY GREENS:

Think Spinach, kale, chard, dandelion greens – these are full of crucial vitamins like Vitamin C, A and K.

AVOCADO:

Regardless of the type of eating plan you are on – this one works!  Avocados fall into the “healthy fats” category and are gaining popularity as more research makes itself available.

It provides fiber (7 grams) and it’s rich in monounsaturated fats that help you prevent heart disease.

SALMON:

The star of the Omega-3 show.

A fatty-acid that benefits your heart by slowing accumulation of plaque that gunks up arteries and improves your lipid profiles.  Research suggests eating two fatty-fish meals a week.

WALNUTS:

I love snacking on these.

Studies by the European Journal of Nutrition are great because they contain omega-3.  They are also great for fiber and magnesium AND are under 400 calories.

BERRIES:

A great source of natural sugar.  Berries, in moderation is packed in disease-fighting polyphenols and are low-carb.

CHIA SEEDS:

It took me a while to get on this train.  Don’t know why … they seemed so teeny and ineffective…is that weird?

But there is a reason you should eat them…they contain a LOT of omega-3 fats, which benefit your heart and cognitive function.  And, if your on a “keto” plan, they are low-carb and digestion-friendly.

HOW may of these are a part of your diet TODAY?  How do you use them when cooking, baking or making smoothies?  Be sure to share your secrets!
