MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM SALZBURG, AUSTRIA

IF there is one Christmas Market that truly feels like a snow globe, it’s Salzburg.

We took a train (yes, just like the Brad Pitt Bullet Train….just saying) from Munich to Salzburg.  The train system in Europe is so well run.  So efficient… we usually buy some bread and cheese for the ride and enjoy the scenery.  We purchased all of our tickets online – super easy.  Be aware, the train station, if you’ve never used them can be a bit overwhelming.  The staff is wonderful and very generous in helping with questions.

Just a little about Salzburg, Austria.

Salzburg is an Austrian city on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right. The Altstadt birthplace of famed composer Mozart is preserved as a museum displaying his childhood instruments.

PS.  This little village is also a MAJOR shopping destination. Everything from Lanz to Gucci all within walking distance to the market (which meanders through the village).

xoxo, Rosanna
