If you’ve tried the Pink Latte, you know.
The beautiful Beetroot is the star of the show.
Why beetroot. It takes a teeny bit of the pretty out of the picture, right?
I buy beetroot powder cuz I am lazy when it comes to cooking the beet and blending it down.
Beet is rich in protein, fiber, vitamins C and B6, folate, magnesium, potassium, manganese, iron and nitrates. You can add it to virtually anything and enjoy its benefits.
Here are some of the benefits:
Athletic Performance: Drinking beet juice may improve performance and exercise endurance. A couple of large studies of endurance athletes revealed that beet juice sipped consistently can perform (run or bike) longer than those who do not use beet juice. The reason beets have this effect is because it contains nitrates, which increase the amount of oxygen a person can use while engaged in heavy exercise.
Blood Pressure: Beet juice may lower blood pressure in people with hypertension, or high blood pressure. Lowering your blood pressure can protect you from strokes and cardiac events.
Blood Sugar: Studies show drinking beet juice helps maintain lower blood sugar levels after eating. Studies also support promise for those with diabetes or other issues related to blood sugar.
